Happiness Inside the Viewfinder, and Delicious Records
1. Prologue: Unrecorded Moments Disappear
Hello. I am Lux.
As you know, this is a place where I observe the world through the viewfinder as a photographer and capture records of my experiences using honesty as my weapon.
In the vast ocean of information known as the internet, countless travel tips and restaurant reviews pour out every second.
However, distinguishing the 'real' from it is becoming increasingly difficult.
Amidst a flood of information riddled with commercial advertisements and retouched images, I intend to record only the raw truth that can serve as a practical guidepost for travelers.
It is a place like the most honest memo pad regarding the land I have walked, the food I have tasted, and the landscapes I have faced.
2. Photography: Becoming a Friend That Connects Hearts
They say photographs do not lie, but those who handle them can lie.
I avoid landscapes distorted by excessive color correction or photos packaged differently from reality through clever angles.
To me, photography is more than just an artistic pursuit of visual beauty; it is a "real documentary" that respects the time, place, and the flow of the atmosphere of that moment.
There was a time when I thought of photography merely as a means of making a living.
On the other hand, I was constantly questioning whether the subject of the beauty in a photograph was others or myself.
It was only after such a long time had passed that photography began to feel like a friend rather than a means of livelihood.
A good friend that understands my feelings... one that recreates the scenes I dream of.
In this way, it seems that travel becomes richer through the friend called photography.
3. Travel: For the happy moments everyone dreams of
I believe that in travel, "how you remember" is more important than "where you went."
I enjoy traversing every corner of South Korea to discover the charms of lesser-known small towns in the provinces.
My trips are not about taking a selfie in front of famous landmarks and returning; instead, I observe the history and culture of the region, as well as the lives of the people who live there.
At the same time, my gaze is directed toward the world. On the streets of overseas destinations where unfamiliar languages and cultures clash, I record my travels through the eyes of a stranger—sometimes cool-headed, sometimes passionate.
Rather than following the predictable routes found in guidebooks, I seek out places where locals stay and collect raw episodes that travel agencies do not tell you about.
I share with you the unexpected incidents and accidents I encounter on the road, the moments that were even more enjoyable because things didn't go according to plan, and the travel know-how I gained in the process.
I hope my writing serves not merely as a recommendation to "go here," but as an inspiration showing that "this kind of travel is also possible."
I do not know if this applies to everyone, but it seems I continue to travel in search of a certain image.
It is difficult to explain this image easily, but it appears to be connected to my childhood schemas.
It is as if certain happy scenes from my childhood have been complexly reconstructed, constantly stimulating my travel DNA.
To put it simply, I hope that the scenes I dream of will manifest as reality.
4. Gourmand: Uncompromising Gastronomy Standards
Restaurant reviews are the category on this blog to which the strictest standards are applied.
While the word "delicious" is inevitably subjective, I believe that even that subjectivity must be backed by "grounds."
When I visit a restaurant, I comprehensively analyze not only the taste of the food but also the freshness of the ingredients, the professionalism of the cooking methods, the hygiene of the establishment, and the quality of service.
There are no reviews here that are filled with nothing but praise due to paid promotions or sponsorships.
If something is delicious, I explain why it is delicious based on the ingredients and cooking methods; if there are shortcomings, I cool-headedly point out what the problem is.
Sometimes my honest evaluations may be uncomfortable for some, but my primary principle is to ensure that readers who visit after reading my posts do not feel "deceived."
5. Epilogue: A Reliable Guide to Your Journey
Meeting you through this space is a great pleasure for me.
I dream that this place will not be a space where information is unilaterally thrown at us, but rather a public square where people who love travel and gastronomy can share their experiences and empathize with one another.
I see a single photo I took with sweat becoming someone's desktop wallpaper, and a single line I stayed up all night writing becoming someone's weekend travel plan.
Instead of flashy embellishments or deception, I wish to share content that is rustic yet authentic.
Whether you stumbled upon this place by chance through a search or have been following me for a long time, I sincerely hope that the journey of everyone who visits this space becomes a little richer through my records.
I wish you always happiness and good health.
Thank you.
